LIVING IN CRETE |
|
In Crete, what a person can experience is “quality of life”; an expression which seems to be losing its original meaning in our modern, fast-paced society.
In Crete, quality of life means to be woken up by the Mediterranean sun and the sound of harvest flies and birds.
Quality of life is to walk out your door and see friendly people across the street enjoying a cup of coffee. It is to spend the day by the sea and when tired from relaxing next to blue waters, having to take ten steps to reach a traditional tavern to enjoy fresh fish and a glass of Cretan Raki.
Quality of life in Crete is to take an afternoon walk around your village and come across historical temples and sites that date back to thousands of years B.C. which suddenly make you realize the original meaning of culture and religion.
The cost of life here is substantially lower than in northern Europe. The destinations of the island are uncountable, not to mention the numerous possibilities of daily trips to historical locations and neighbouring islands.
The sun shines 330 days a year in Crete. The choice of flying over for a weekend during the northern European winter, having a peaceful way of life with your family all year round, or enjoying the most entertaining and fun times with friends visiting you from abroad, is only up to you.
This is what we call "quality of life"!
